Who We Are
The Churches’ Reparations Action Forum has emerged as a conduit for Caribbean churches’ action in engaging the issues arising from the legacies of the enslavement of African people and the Reparations cause. CRAF engages with churches and para-church organizations in the UK and Europe in their search for effective actions towards restorative justice. It recognizes that many churches are seeking to adequately reflect their pain in recognizing their complicity in the system of slavery which perpetrated such egregious wrongs for centuries. CRAF is convinced that practical actions of reparation are possible, which, when applied with conscientious effort can bring healing and restoration to persons, relationships and communities.
Vision
CRAF envisages a world within which God’s reconciling hand, at work in and through God’s Church, brings about actions of reparatory justice which serve to heal damaged relationships, broken and violated in centuries of dehumanization, enslavement and trading in Africans.
Values
CRAF values Collaboration, Honesty, Generosity, good Governance and Accountability.
Mission
To energize the church in the Caribbean and influence the church in Britain and Europe to take practical actions of reparatory justice which serve to bridge divides and repair breaches, contributing to reconciliation among persons, communities, churches and states.
